His coat is torn and frayed
It's seen much better days
As long as the guitar plays
Let it steal your heart away
Stone cold chillin'.
It was warm enough yesterday to melt most of the snow in town. I took a long run in shorts and a t-shirt. It was around 60 degrees.
But we woke up this morning to a couple inches of fresh snow.
India left for the day, so I followed a very regimented, structured agenda, broken down into 15 minute increments, 'cause that's just how I roll.
Woke up at 6:30. Brewed a pot of coffee. Ate an apple. Repaired to the couch. India left.
Settled in with the coffee and a cat, and watched Hellboy on cable. Surprisingly entertaining.
Put on a second pot of coffee, just because.
Kill Bill, Vol. 2 came on cable. Watched it for the 5th time. It's good, but something about Carradine's talky monologues and that fucking flute bother me a little. The rest of the movie is stellar, though.
Let the dogs out.
Talked to my man in Amsterdam, T-Rex. T-Rex and I have been friends since the 7th grade. He also lived just around the corner from me back in Wisconsin, and I used to hang out with him 3 or 4 times a week. He injured his knee at work, so he was taking Vicodin and playing computer games.
Drank a bottle of San Pellegrino, for which I have developed an affinity.
Ate some chili, which I made last night. Melted some colby-jack up in that muhfug. It is just about perfect. Aaah.
Talked to my mom for a little while.
Rested.
Kill Bill ended.
I was going to run, but it looked blustery. So I set up the Nordic Trak in the living room.
I popped in Empire Strikes Back for my mock-cross-country-skiing enjoyment.
After about an hour or so of huffing an puffing, I took a shower.
Repaired to the couch.
Relaxed. Finished Empire.
Took the dogs for a stroll. Yup. It's blustery out.
Made some tea.
Browsed the net for fly fishing gear. www.cabelas.com is the place. Picked out some stuff I want, but didn't buy anything.
Good Will Hunting is coming on in a few minutes.
Whew. What a day. If this keeps up, I am going to need a vacation.
I think I might have some more chili. How's that for adventure?
Punch it, Chewie.

It was a TV-watching day here too. I am watching Metro with Eddie Murphy...not particularly exciting.
I watched Smoke Signals today, taped it a couple of months ago when it was on in the middle of the night. I enjoyed it, particularly pointing out Marilyn and Shelley from Northern Exposure.
