I am the Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria
The noose and the rapist
The fields' overseer
The agents of orange
The priests of hiroshima

The cost of my desire
Sleep now in the fire

===

Six inches of snow fell overnight; eleven inches in the last 24 hours. There was a palpable electricity amongst the people at the mountain, most of whom appeared to be locals.

Their gear was well-worn. A bit of duct tape here and there. Scuffed helmets. Faded packs. They moved with competency and efficiency onto the lifts, and up to the top of the mountain.

We all knew we were lucky to be there, together and alone, in that place, at that time, in those conditions.

We knew.

The iPod fed my head a soundtrack for an epic day. Pulsing beats, an atmosphere, a groove.

A Video

Top-to-bottom runs all day.

Floating.

Bouncing from turn to turn.

Airborne for a moment each time.

Ecstatic landings in deep, soft snow, mimicking the deceleration of a plunge into water from a height.

Another Video

Then accerating through each arc, back into the air again, legs, board, mind and mountain unconsciously in sync.

Carving down the steep slope, spraying snow overhead in a rhythm.

Uno mas video

Blissful, crisp, balletic motion.

Time moves slowly, frame by frame.

You.

Are.

Here.

Now.

Completely present.

In each moment.

We knew we were all lucky to be there, together and alone, in that place, at that time, in those conditions.

Yeah, we all knew it.

Last run video

And you could feel it.

Those are some great pictures. I saw this snowboarder on Martha (I had the day off from work). He won the gold in snowboarding.
Dude looks like a cross between Carrot Top and Rusty from the "Mask". He has a video out that was just amazing of him going down some some cliffs.

Name was Shuan White.

dude!! with all that free time of yours and your love of snowboarding, you should sign up with eagle mount at bridger bowl and help some disabled folks for a couple hours a day once a week. it would be good for you. you could still take pictures of yourself while you are riding up the lift.
