On a hippie trailhead full of zombies
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous.

{Alert: Obnoxious Name-dropping Story}

As you may know, my lady, Stanette, had a career in music in Atlanta the '90's.

She ran in the same circles with a bunch of popular bands from that region- Widespread Panic, R.E.M., Hootie and the Blowfish and the Indigo Girls.

Today, we were out running some errands, and I was making fun of Jeff Buckley.

Mind you, I have never even heard Jeff Buckley's music (really, not a single song), but he's fun to mock.

People, especially chicks, loooooove Jeff Buckley.

So, it's fun to watch them get misty as they defend his beautiful, and I'm sure, heartfelt, sensitive, acoustic, lovelorn ballads.

So mid-mock, Stanette chimes in that she was in a club watching the Indigo Girls and Jeff Buckley was sitting at the next table, by himself, crying.

That's right.

Sitting alone.

At an Indigo Girls concert.

Crying.

True story.

Now it's even easier to make fun of Jeff Buckley.

Your lady rocks.

I spent many a weekend in Buckhead during the early to mid-90's when I was at FSU. That was a pretty crazy place for the South back then now I that think back on it. Wow, I'm having all kinds of flashbacks. I rocked out to Adam Ant live and in person there in a 1500 person max (if even that) club. Not much else needs to be said after that.

The dude's dead, give him a break.

FYI,Buckley mostly rocked out. Not your basic acoustic singer songwriter type. Definitely MUCH cooler than Jack Johnson, ya faaaag.

Give him a listen - some of the shit is great.

Chuck Klosterman once wrote, "The best thing Jeff Buckley did was die."
