Got arrested for inciting a peaceful riot

I found a note on my desk that said, "Sucks to your ass-mar."

(Remember Lord of the Flies?)

I guess our little gig Saturday went well. Someone who was there asked Stanette today if we would play another Christmas party in a week or so.

There was one thing about it that was strangely pleasant.

After the first song, the crowd really applauded. It was a strange feeling. It was a palpable wave of clapping and yelling. I felt mildly embarrassed for some reason, yet I couldn't keep a grin from crossing my face.

I've tried cases to juries, given speeches, been interviewed on-air, but nobody really applauds... I've played some sports, and cracked countless jokes that have made people laugh, but this was really different.

It was pretty cool.

It is dumping at Big Sky right now. I will make my return to the slopes this week.

Oh, it's on.

Hey, wow. It looks like sometime later today, The Dude Abides will see its 100,000th visitor. I have that thing set to unique visitors, rather than page views, because it seemed like a more realistic gauge. I'm not trying to sell ads. I just want to know how many people visit.

(Unique visitors mean you get counted once every 12 hours, even if you hit refresh like a monkey on Ritalin during that time frame.)

So, whoever you are, Mr. or Ms. 100,000, um... thanks. Come back soon.

Congrats on the X-mas gig. I sang a song with a cover band at a party this past weekend - you're fortunate to have Stanette and your band. Nothing's more fun than jamming out.

Oh, and Monk... without Stanette, there is no band.

She is what makes it special, and she is the reason we even get asked to play places.

It sure isn't my guitar wizardry.

Nort doesn't visit the blog, I asked him about it last week. I didn't get much of a response. Just a "No...but did I tell you about the time I was at Joe's house and the drier sheets and the..." I better stop typing.
