This is not a lyric.
Listen to this video.
If you know me and you read this... then listen

I finished Ron Wood's autobiography last night.

Wow.

He played with Jeff Beck. He lived with Jimi Hendrix. He had an affair with George Harrison's wife before Clapton wrote Layla about her. (Re-read that last sentence and let it soak in. I'll wait. Yeah.) After that, he wrote a bunch of mediocre songs like Maggie May and Every Picture Tells a Story with Rod Stewart and the Faces, then he toured the world.

After that, he partied a little, met Bob Marley, toured with Bo Diddley, crashed Keith Moon's car, and spent a week in jail in a third world country.

Then Mick Jagger calls and says, dude, you wanna play guitar with me and Keith?

True story.

And also, he got arrested in Arkansas with Keith, trying to drive to their next gig. The plane was delayed, and it was only 500 miles. And Keith said he could rent a car and drive. Great idea. Why didn't I think of that?

Keith, you drive

He (Ron, not Keith, not necessarily, anyway)) also had a bit of a drug problem, went broke and sold his house to Pete Townshend.

True Story.

Ron Wood.

He is the most unheralded, absolutely ridiculous rock star in history.

Listen to those videos, and prove me wrong. I defy you.

Listen, and the go ahead and comment.

Ron Wood.

There's definitely some rockin' out going on here. I enjoyed these. Brought back all sorts of memories. I dated a guy in 1980 that looked a lot like Ron Wood (I realized as I watched these). Taught me how to play Blackbird on guitar. Sorry I got Ron Wood and Ron J3remy confused yesterday when you mentioned it. If you think about it, that's kinda funny.

Good to see you've come to see the light grasshopper. As a younger man the guy played great guitar and bass for that matter. Unfortunately booze drugs and joining the Stones turned his playing into jelly but what the hell, that's why you have dc's and videos.

BTW here's a link to a Jeff Beck show from last week in London. 6 shows at a jazz club and recorded for a DVD. You want to hear guitar? You CAN'T handle hearing real guitar.

I read that Ron Wood's spot almost went to George Thorogood, among a few others, and that Keith almost sacked him from the Stones a few times for being fucked-up wasted and blowing his parts. How wasted and fucked-up do you have to be to get Keith Richards on your case?

Woodie worked out though, those periods around Some Girls when the two guitars were identical-sounding was as good as it gets.

moptop- listen to you and your anti-stones bias.

I saw them last October, and the show was phenomenal. Trust me, Woodie can still bring it.

Thanks for the link, dude.

Stacey- the way Woodie tells it, the incident occurred at 3 a.m. Mick, Keef and ROn were getting stoned in Ron's room, and Mick woke Carlie up and said, "Where's my drummer? Get my drmmer down here."

Charlie got out of bed, put on the Savile row suit and vest, knocked on the door, punched Mick in the face and nearly threw him out the window.

He said, "I am NOT your drummer! You're my singer!"

Ron had to grab Mick's leg to keep him from going out the window.

I guess Charlie was having some issues with amphetamines and alcohol at the time.
