Joe, just made a dish you have gotta try; it's called Pasta Americana...it has bacon in it...so its gotta be good.
In this order: Brown 8 strips (cut into pieces) of thick cut. peppered bacon in a littel olive oil, throw in one red onion chopped and 4 tbs spoons minced garlic, cook until onions are soft, add one cup of chicken broth, cook awhile.
Puree one 24 ounce can of fired smoked, diced tomatoes, dump in above mixture after it has cooked about 15 minutes. Simmer on low 10 minutes. Add fresh chopped basil and parslee, simmer 5 minutes. Dump a box of cooked penne, multi fiber pasta, into the mixture, cook 3 minutes and serve. Top with extra sharp cheddar at the table. Serve with garlic bread and salad...WOW! You will love it.
I'm not one to pass on a dish, but this will knock your socks off.
