Get back

^^I cannot get enough of Billy Preston playing organ.

John Lennon was a motherfucker on guitar.

Seriously.

Did you know that he played guitar on the David Bowie song, "Fame?"

That "Fame" is too good for most of my readers.

In our early married days, my husband's friend (and employee) bought a Hammond B3 and brought it to the office. The speakers were Leslie (I think - they spun around).

That thing was fun.

Too bad no one really knew how to play it.

Hammond B3's are really cool.

They don't make them anymore, and I guess they use synthesizers now...

I wold love to get my hands on one.

N-man had a nice Hammond A-100 for a few years (same thing as the B3 except the cabinetry, can hook it to a leslie, etc. Some even say the best B3s are A-100s). He bought from an elderly lady here in the Dam. We'd fire it up and fart around on it now and then but no one was particularly interested in playing it a whole lot. It eventually found a good home when Ward-Brodt sold it for us on consignment.

Lennon co-wrote "Fame" with Mr. Bowie and sung on it as well. They also recorded "Across the Universe". Both songs are on the "Young Americans" album.

Yes the Leslie's spin around, creating that sound.
