You can't, you won't and you don't stop
I am pretty excited. The Austin City Limits Music Festival happens to coincide with my milestone 40th birthday.
I have never been to Austin, although I have always wanted to go. So I bought a couple three-day wristbands and booked a hotel right downtown for four days.
The lineup is only "rumored" at this point, but here is some speculation:
Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon, Beastie Boys, Dave Mathews Band, Ghostland Observatory,
The Knux, Levon Helm, Mos Def, Papa Mali, Passion Pit, Reckless Kelly & Sonic Youth.
Not too shabby, even though I will be nowhere near Dave Matthews when he plays. There's just no room for a violin AND a saxophone in rock and roll.
In any case, I am very excited to see both Austin and the festival, regardless of who actually plays. (Although, I gotta say, if both Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon play, I'll be over the moon. I'd also see Levon Helm, Ghostland Observatory, the Beasties and Sonic Youth.)

We watched Doubt last night. It is an outstanding movie, and aptly named, as we argued afterwards about what had happened.
It was a pretty thought-provoking movie, although I "doubt" it is super-popular with the Catholic Church.

Even though lift-served ski season ended five short days ago (you can still hike to get your turns if you want), I already miss it. I got in a record number of days for me at 38.
This is shoulder season. While other areas of the country are enjoying 60 and 70 degree weather, we fluctuate between 30 and 50. There is snow on the ground from the latest storm, and when that begins to melt, all is muddy, including the hiking and biking trails.
But that melt leads to runoff, which leads to awesome kayaking.
We usually get out of town around this time of year for a bit. Stanette is going to Philly, and I am going to San Francisco. I may get out to Portland & Seattle as well.

I, too, thought Doubt was outstanding. The scene in the office where PSH and MS are arguing was intense and so well acted. I actually think he was innocent in that particular situation.
Interesting to hear your opinion of Doubt. Although I'm a fan of PSH I had NO desire to see it, yet thanks to your supremely awesome review i will now have to check that shit out yo.
Charanga is a form of Salsa whereby the flute and violins go hand-in-glove.
The chorus is monotone for some reason.

Dude, look me up when you're in Austin. Been living here a dozen years - know a thing or two about the place. I think you'll find the town to your liking, although our ski season is really, really short (and located in Colorado). And the weekend you're here is my birfday, too. jb
