I was just talking to a friend about Tom Petty, how he's been around forever and nobody really thinks he's the greatest artist on earth BUT nobody can really think of anything to hack on him about, and the more you think about him in terms of longevity and never really sucking too bad and waging "the good fight" against record labels and generally having songs on the radio that are actually listenable. Even his lesser albums had a few good songs on them, and he never ever turned into an asshole.
When you really sit down and think about Tom Petty he really does shine. So many good songs and so little suckage across such a long span of time.
That 4 hour Tom Petty documentary Running Down A Dream was one of the best rock documentaries I have ever seen. if you haven't seen it I would highly suggest getting it.
What kind of keyboard did you buy?
