Two of us riding nowhere, spending someone's hard-earned pay. Two of us Sunday driving, not arriving. On our way back home.
-Had a wee bit o' the writer's block lately, so I will play a little smallball. Work the count, take some pitches, hit and run, sacrifice bunt, scratch out some runs.
-If you haven't heard Aimee Mann's version of that song^^, chiggity-check it.
-The new Batmobile rocks.
-Ah've bin immersed in the world of Irvine Welsh, likesay. Eht's like ah've gaun oan fuckin hoaliday intae a world filled wi junkies and schemes. Ah also realized that eh've given awey me copy of Filth and me copy of Trainspotting and ah nivir goat um back, right? Fuckin' brilliant books. So ah hud tae make do with Acid House and Ecstasy and Glue and Porno. And the movie. Which I watched two and a half times this weekend.
-Somebody found their way here by searching for "bighorn sheep fucking." Nice.
-Darkness and a fidgety, jingling dog.
-I wrote a pretty cool, chunky guitar riff Saturday. I cannot wait until Bells gets back and we can work it into something. Our band is currently called Thundercake. (Former names: Catpiss Junction, Big Wampum, Stinkfist). We are auditioning cowbell players.
-I love the fat guy on Lost.
-I like that Welsh wrote a sequel to Trainspotting. I always wondered what happened to Renton.
-On that bookshelf that is always in pictures, there is a Pahalniuk section, a Bukowski section, an Elmore Leonard section, a Welsh section, a James Ellroy section, a Neal Stephenson section, a Chandler sectiuon, an Abbey section, a Vonnegut section, a Phillip Dick section, a Burroughs section, a Hiassen section, a Hemingway section. I like 'em really fucked up and out there. What can I say?
-I have recently found room for more hip-hop in my life.
-I am rooting for the Astros.
-If you get a chance, listen to "Still" and "Razor" from the Foo Fighter's recent disc. Both acoustic, both atmospheric, both melancholy as hell, which is how I like them. Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age plays guitar on the latter track. If you ask me nicely, even if you're not a (deadbeat) friend of mine, I will send you a copy.
-I've got to give a shoutout to my buddy, Dan. Dude, you've always been there for me, good times and bad. Particularly, when I have needed you most. Thanks, and I love you.
-My sister saw the Foo Fighters in LA Saturday. Bitch.
-Shuffling, shambling, snorting.
-My wife made me laugh really hard today. Really hard.
-Too alarming now to talk about
Take your pictures down and shake it out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary
Don't the best of them bleed it out
While the rest of them peter out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary
Kudos my hero leaving all the best
You know my hero, the one that's on
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary
