Small my table
Seats just two
Got so crowded
I can't make room

We had an excellent, sprawling 8 hour jam yesterday. Tons of fun. We covered the gamut, and roughed up the usual suspects.

It ended with slow-cooked pulled pork sandwiches, broccoli slaw, fresh-cooked potato chips, and some KILLER cookies that Alicia (Mrs. Bells) brought over. She joined us at the tail end.

Had a nice soak under the stars with the Bells family afterwards and I went to bed nice and early, like the soft-spoken, well-mannered young man that I am.

No, really, I was out by 9:15.

(Soft-spoken and well-mannered is bullshit, though.)

Today, by contrast, has been a busy, grueling day.

To wit: I woke up at 5, because I passed out at 9:15. I puttered for a couple hours on the internet, and cleaned up from yesterday's rock-and-pork fest and went back to bed at 7.

I got out of bed for the second time at 9. I was settling in with some coffee to watch a little Tivo, and my mom called. We talked for an hour.

Then I had to drive into town for a massage at high noon that Stanette had gotten me as a gift. It was very strenuous and stressful.

I came home, shot out a few texts and downloaded some tablature for this Bob Dylan song I have to play at a friend's wedding in a couple weeks.

(Stanette isn't singing it, another chica is... *SCANDAL!* Not to worry, nearly 6 fans ((two of which are not yet five years old)), the BAND IS NOT BREAKING UP. Call this our "individual Kiss solo record phase." (((Does anyone remember those? I had the Ace Frehley one and I think the Peter Criss one. I'm back! Back in the New York Groove!"))) ...)

It's actually a pretty cool song called, "To Make You Feel My Love."

Here are the words:

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I would offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong

I'd go hungry, I'd go blind for you
I'd go crawling down the aisle for you
There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on a rolling sea
Down the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
But you ain't seen nothing like me yet

There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
Make you happy, make your dreams come true
To make you feel my love

Yes, I will be playing a love song, up on an altar, in a church. Let's hope there aren't any thunderclouds that day.
