Fly like an eagle, let my spirit carry me

My knee was still sore this morning, so we did the only thing you can do in that situation: huevos rancheros.

I have to give the Nova Cafe props. It is my favorite breakfast spot in Bozeman.

After breakfast, India and I decided to hike up Soudough Canyon.

It is a popular hiking/biking/cross country skiing spot just out of town.

Right when we got there, we saw something fairly incredible, but I will save the best pictures for last.

It was exciting, as you can see by the look on my face.

But you will just have to wait through some peaceful pictures from our hike.

I know last week I said I wasn't going to watch the Super Bowl, but I ended up watching it anyway.

I was invited to a party. In light of my meager social life, I thought that I should go.

Not to name drop or anything, but Antuan Randle El, a loyal reader of The Dude Abides, threw a sweet touchdown pass. Nice going, Antuan.

We took the dogs along for the first hour of our hike, then returned them to the car for a nap.

Puck had fun.

Not sure exactly what India was doing here, but I liked this picture. It looks like she is doing the Snoopy dance.

We ended up seeing three different people on the trail that we knew. How wholesome.

After, we got smoothies at the Co-op, and listened to some live music. India's friend, Sally Newsome, was playing. (There I go name-dropping again.)

So, when we first arrived, we noticed a bunch of big ravens loitering near a deer carcass.

We spotted a pair of large bald eagles in a tree.

Ever the intrepid photographer, I walked a little closer to take a picture.

When I got to within about 40 yards, the eagle took off right at me, then turned right and flew away.

He was a big boy, and he was kind enough to give me a great profile shot.

I left the picture a little bigger than usual.
