Poor, young grandson, there's nothing I can say
You'll have to learn, just like me
That's the hardest way
Ooh la la

Friday night was the Bozeman Art Walk.

A friend of ours, Ralph, had a showing at the Emerson in a gallery belonging to another friend, Robin.

(The Emerson is a former shool building that has been converted into a center for the arts. All the classrooms hold galleries, yoga studios and non-profit organizations; there is a nice restaurant there... it is a pretty cool place.)

There was some great art and some interesting people. All the galleries served wine and appetizers. We ran into some friends and had some laughs. We ended up eating at the one of the restaurant's outdoor tables with some of them and then went home.

Saturday, we took a hike before the heat took hold.

We have been experiencing fairly consistent 90-100 degree weather for several weeks, with only a few interruptions.

When it is that hot, you can only do a few things to find relief- go up, get on the water or go to the mall.

On Saturday, we opted for elevation, and enjoyed a three hour hike on Bracket Creek.

^^That is Bridger Bowl Ski Resort.

The wildflowers were out.

After the hike, we cruised over to the Gallatin Gateway Inn for a drink. It was built in the mid-20's by the railways as a stop for travelers heading into Yellowstone National Park. It is a grand, old building.

Stanette sang a song on the Greatroom, which the tourists really enjoyed.

I enjoyed it, too.

Some Big Sky was happening as we left.

There is a very, very funny story that happened early Sunday morning. I am dying to tell it, but I really can't, for several reasons. I am going to go ahead and write it up, but not post it. If you are interested, email me, and I will send you a copy.

I warn you, though, if I don't recognize your email address, or if you have never emailed me, you may not get a response.

It's pretty funny.

This post is getting too long. On Sunday, we took a nice, long float on the Yellowstone. I will put that in a separate post.

I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday.

P.S. Sorry about the shitty pictures. I am working on my fourth camera thsi calendar year, and I don't quite have the swing of it yet.
